Cut the Wood to Size

In addition, if you are working with raw wood, you must ensure that it is either sealed or stained. Use a product that is safe for use with food because your knives will be resting directly on it.
Drill the Holes
Before you begin drilling holes in the wood, you should first mark the positions where the holes will be using a tape measure.
Make two rows of holes on the back of the piece of wood by using the drill. Drill as deeply into the wood as you can without going through to the front so that the magnets can be placed as close to the front surface of the wood as is practically possible.

Glue on the Magnets
After adding a drop of super glue or any other strong adhesive you might have at home to each of the holes, you should position the magnets inside the holes so that they all face the same direction. This will ensure that the wood becomes magnetized and can hold the knives.
It might be easier for you at this point to cover each end of the wood with your hand so that the magnets you have already placed in the holes do not fall out.
Make sure that your magnets have the strength necessary to attract metal on the opposite side of the wood before adding any adhesive materials. You should use these cobalt magnets to ensure that your knives can be held.
Attach to the Wall
Attach the holder to the wall by any method you choose, using glues, hooks, screws, holders, etc. If you have a specific area, use a level to mark where you want the screws to go. Drill pilot holes and then screw the holder into place.
Use wall anchors if you are attaching the holder to drywall. Once the holder is in place, add your knives. You can arrange them however you like, and they will be within easy reach whenever you need them.
